‘I’m sorry for what I said when I was hungry’
Good food : Good mood
The healing power of food cannot be overstated. There is a wonderful Ayurvedic proverb ‘When diet is wrong, medicine is of no use. When diet is correct, medicine is of no need.’ Optimal nutrition is not simply about the nutritional content of the food that you eat but encompasses everything from how the food is grown, the way it is prepared, your state of mind and digestion when you eat it. We’re passionate about food. We use the freshest ingredients possible and carefully create our menus to be nutritious, delicious and crammed full of love.
Carrie, our in-house cook, cooks with her heart and soul. We are incredibly fortunate to have Carrie in residence on our retreats. You can literally taste the love in her food!
Her work in the culinary arts has taken her on some great adventures from setting up an outdoor organic catering company, overseeing catering for Wild Women groups, Chi Gong camps and movement medicine dance groups to catering in Buckfast Abbey for Zi Zing master healer where they loved the ‘Chi’ in her food. She has worked in the Riverford field kitchen gaining inspiration from Jane Baxter’s passion and expertise and most recently in the organic kitchen at the Karuna Institute.
